Short answer

To build a one page website with Xexea, make an account, log in with an email code, choose your page address, add your blocks, write your text, add a contact form and click Publish. Most pages take 10 to 20 minutes and cost nothing.

Why you can trust this guide

Joel is a Director at Anselerate Web Services LLP, the company that makes and runs Xexea. These steps match how the builder works today. Our address, phone number and email are in the footer, and you can call us if you get stuck.

The 7 steps

  1. Make your account and finish the check

Create your account at console.ansel.cloud and finish the short identity check. We ask for this to keep scams and spam off our free hosting.

  2. Log in with an email code

Go to console.xexea.com and type your email. We send you a one time code. Type the code to get in. There is no password to remember, and each code stops working after a short time.

  3. Choose your page address

Pick the name for your page. It will live at yourname.xexea.com. Choose a short name that people can remember and spell.

  4. Add your blocks

Open the builder and add the blocks you need. Start with a hero banner so visitors know who you are right away. Then add text, a gallery, a list or link buttons. Use the arrows to move blocks up or down.

  5. Write your text and add pictures

Click a block to edit it. Type your words, upload your pictures and pick the colors. Keep your text short. Use dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark one, so it is easy to read.

  6. Add a contact form

Add the Contact block. Next, log in to Ansel Forms, make a form and copy its form tag. Paste the tag into the Contact block. See the box below for how the tag looks.

  7. Publish and test

Click Publish. Open your page address, then check it on your phone. Send yourself a test message through the form. Share your link when you are happy with it.

How the contact form tag looks

When you make a form in Ansel Forms, you get a form tag like this one. Copy the whole line and paste it into the Contact block. The ID at the end is different for every form.

<form action="https://ansel.ws/process.php?id=YOUR_FORM_ID" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data">

Xexea reads the form ID from the tag. It then builds the Name, Email, Phone and Message fields for you. Messages go to your Ansel Forms dashboard.

4 tips for a better page

Small things make a big difference.

Write one clear headline

Tell visitors what you do in a few words. Put it in the hero banner.

Use one main button

Pick the one thing you want people to do, such as call you or send a message. Make that button easy to find.

Use real pictures

Clear photos of your work or your team build trust. Use pictures you own.

Check it on a phone

Most people will open your page on a phone. Look at every block on a small screen before you share it.

Do's and Don'ts

Keep these in mind while you build.

Do

  • Choose a short page address that people can spell.
  • Put one clear headline in the hero banner.
  • Use your own photos or pictures you have the right to use.
  • Check every block on a phone before you share your link.
  • Send yourself a test message through the contact form.

Don't

  • Do not write long walls of text. Keep each block short.
  • Do not put light text on a light background.
  • Do not copy text or pictures from other websites.
  • Do not share your email login code with anyone.
  • Do not paste a form tag from someone else's account. Use your own.

Free tools that work with your page

Use these along with your Xexea page. They are all free to start.

Share passwords safely with ViewAndBurn

Did a client give you access to a page or a service? Send private logins and notes with ViewAndBurn. The note burns after one read, so nothing stays in your email.

Share your page with Linklope

Make a short link for your page with Linklope. Use a different short link for each social post, then see which one brings the most visitors.

Collect messages with Ansel Forms

Ansel Forms powers the Contact block. You can read messages, download them as a CSV file and stop spam with its built in checks.
